Dual Occupancy in Cairns

Dual occupancy is where two residential dwellings (houses) are located on one lot.

There is a possibility for Dual Occupancy development where the site has a minimum area:

and Development is on a regularly shaped lot;

and Is not affected by the Hillslopes Overlay.

Dual Occupancy development can occur providing that the proposal complies with the Cairns Planning Scheme. A development application is required to Cairns Regional Council for any Dual Occupancy Development Proposal.
